Heart of the South West Trading Standards offers Allergen Ready, a paid advisory service providing practical support to help food and hospitality businesses understand and implement effective allergen management systems.
Delivered by experienced Trading Standards Officers who are fully qualified and competent in Food Standards, this service is designed to support compliance with food information and food safety legislation.
The service provides tailored, practical guidance to suit your type and size of business, from small single-site takeaways to larger or multi-site operations with more complex supply chains.
We can assist by helping develop or review allergen risk assessments, allergen matrix documents and allergen management policies, alongside advice on day-to-day allergen controls and auditing of systems to improve compliance.
Our aim is to help businesses put clear, workable systems in place – reducing the risk of costly errors, reputational damage or public harm.
Packages
Allergen Ready – Core
- Fee: £103 per hour + VAT
- Two hours
- Suitable for new or smaller food businesses, including cafés, takeaways and single site operations. Focused support to help establish or improve core allergen management systems.
Allergen Ready – Comprehensive
- Fee: £103 per hour + VAT
- Four hours
- Designed for larger businesses, multi site operators or those with more complex menus or supply chains. Provides more detailed support to review systems, documentation and allergen controls in greater depth.
Please note: Any additional time required will be charged at the hourly rate. Packages are also available as part of a Primary Authority Partnership.
