Getting Help and Helping Yourself

Making a Small Claims Case

Many consumers with legitimate complaints drop the matter rather than taking it to small claims court. The main reason for this is that they feel the process may be daunting, expensive, massively time-consuming or take too long.

However the courts are aware of this, and while they need to maintain a system that keeps things fair for both sides and which can judge disputes based on all the available evidence, they have tried to streamline and keep the process as simple as possible. If yours is a relatively simple case, you probably won’t even need a lawyer – you may not even need to go to court.
